Composite Bonding.

Dental bonding, also referred to as composite veneering, provides an affordable, single-visit solution for immediate smile enhancement. Individuals with generally healthy teeth exhibiting minor wear, slight chipping, or a somewhat dulled appearance are ideal candidates. Addressing these concerns through composite resin application is both straightforward and highly effective. Those who are not yet prepared—emotionally or financially—to pursue ceramic veneers will find this an excellent interim option for improving their smile. With proper care, a composite smile design typically maintains its results for approximately 5–7 years before a transition to ceramic alternatives becomes advisable. A combined approach incorporating both ceramic and composite veneering is a strategy we frequently recommend: ceramic veneers are placed on the front 2–4 teeth requiring the most significant cosmetic improvement, while the remaining visible teeth are treated with composite bonding — delivering optimal results from both techniques while managing your total investment.

Process

How composite bonding is delivered.

  1. Step 01

    Consultation & plan

We discuss what you want to change, take photographs and digital scans, and design a treatment plan tailored to you. Nothing starts until you're happy with the plan.

  2. Step 02

    Treatment day begins

On the day, we walk through the plan again. Photographs and digital mock-ups show what we're aiming for before any tooth is touched.

  3. Step 03

    Prepare & scan

Teeth are prepared and scanned in 3D with CEREC. Restorations are designed on screen and milled in the practice — roughly 2–3 hours. You can stay, watch TV, or step out for a break.

  4. Step 04

    Fit & bond

Each restoration is tried in, checked for fit and bite, adjusted if needed, and then bonded. You leave with your final smile in place.

Risks & considerations

Your composite resin requires a short window to fully cure and stabilize. For the first 48 hours, avoid staining materials (coffee, tea, red wine, berries, and dark sauces), expect mild temporary sensitivity to hot or cold foods, stick to softer foods, and do not bite down hard on your front teeth. Long-term, brush and floss daily with a non-abrasive fluoride toothpaste, limit staining agents and tobacco, refrain from biting hard objects like ice, pens, or fingernails, wear a custom nightguard if you grind your teeth, and visit us every six months for professional cleaning and veneer maintenance.

All dental procedures carry potential risks and benefits. Individual results vary. A consultation with a registered dental practitioner is required to determine whether a treatment is suitable for you.
