Dental Fillings.
We are a proudly Amalgam-Free practice. We do not use traditional silver-mercury fillings. Instead, we exclusively use premium, BPA-safe composite resins and ceramics. These materials are not only safer and more biocompatible but also allow us to preserve more of your natural tooth structure during the restoration process. At Leichhardt Dental, we don't believe in "standard" fillings. To ensure your restoration lasts longer and looks completely natural, we use only world-leading materials from 3M ESPE and Ivoclar. These premium composites mimic the strength and light-reflection of natural enamel, so your filling is as durable as it is beautiful.

- The "Chameleon Effect": these materials blend seamlessly into your tooth's unique shade, making the filling virtually invisible
- Nano-Technology: ultra-fine particles make the filling smoother and more resistant to staining and wear over time
- Better Comfort: advanced bonding technology reduces the "shrinkage" that causes post-treatment sensitivity

How dental fillings is delivered.
- Step 01
Consultation & examination
We begin with a conversation about what you're noticing and what you want from your teeth long-term. A clinical examination and any imaging needed follows.
- Step 02
Findings & plan
Dr. Nick walks you through what he sees, what's urgent, what's optional, and what can wait. No surprises, no pressure — just a clear picture and your options.
- Step 03
Treatment
Appointments scheduled around your life. Everything explained as we go. Time taken to do the work properly.
- Step 04
Maintenance
Regular check-ups keep small problems small. We'll agree on a recall interval that makes sense for your mouth.
Risks & considerations
Post-operative sensitivity for a few days is common, particularly with deeper fillings. Rarely, a tooth with extensive decay may later need root canal treatment if the nerve is affected. If more than 50% of the tooth structure is missing or weakened, a Same-Day CEREC Crown may be a better long-term option than a large filling — we'll talk through both at consultation.
All dental procedures carry potential risks and benefits. Individual results vary. A consultation with a registered dental practitioner is required to determine whether a treatment is suitable for you.
