Single Tooth Implants.

If you have a single missing tooth, or a tooth that is badly broken and cannot be saved, you do not have to rely on traditional options. At Leichhardt Dental Centre, we offer single dental implants. This modern treatment replaces one missing tooth from the root up, giving you a fixed, natural tooth-like solution that looks, feels, and functions just like a real tooth. Every single implant procedure at our clinic is personally looked after by our principal dentist, Dr Nick Kulkarni. The most critical part of a successful result is careful planning, correct surgical technique, and respecting your natural biology. Dr Nick uses proven scientific evidence to ensure your new tooth works in harmony with your body, looking beautiful and working perfectly. To keep you completely safe, every single implant placement is done under full hospital-grade sterile conditions, meeting the highest cleanliness standards. We exclusively use world-class, premium brands like BioHorizons and Implant Direct — high-quality, American-made systems backed by rigorous quality assurance. We use our own advanced 3D scanner (CBCT) right here in the office, creating a highly detailed 3D digital map of your mouth so Dr Nick can check the exact shape, density, and height of your foundations before any treatment begins. Where there is not enough natural foundation left, we rebuild the area using an advanced, 100% synthetic material called EthOss — because it is entirely lab-made, it completely removes the risk of cross-contamination linked to older human or animal materials, and over time your body fully absorbs it, turning it into your own natural, healthy tissue. A single implant is made of three simple parts: the Anchor, a tiny, medical-grade metal anchor that sits gently below your gums; the Connector, a small attachment piece that sits just above the gum line; and the New Tooth, a custom-made porcelain crown designed to match the shape and colour of your surrounding teeth exactly.

Case 1.Front-tooth loss can be distressing. A sporting injury in the teens led to infection and the eventual loss of a front tooth, which was replaced with a dental implant. Shown here at a 5-year follow-up.

Case 2.A history of trauma and infection in a front tooth, replaced with a dental implant. A high smile line — where the full tooth and gum show when smiling — makes these among the most demanding restorations to match naturally.

Case 3.An infected front tooth replaced with a dental implant. The 'after' image is a 10-year follow-up — the restoration continuing to function and blend with the surrounding teeth.

Case 4.Multiple missing teeth replaced with implant-supported bridges. We take a conservative approach — teeth that can be retained are kept. A slight colour difference reflects a preference for whiter replacement teeth; in everyday smiling it isn't evident.

Case 5.Some patients are born with congenitally (from birth) missing teeth. These are among the youngest patients we plan for: orthodontic treatment first aligns the teeth and holds the space, so a dental implant can be placed once jaw growth is complete.

What is achievable in your own case can only be determined at a consultation, and it is wise to seek a second opinion before any significant treatment.

Process

How single tooth implants is delivered.

  1. Step 01

    Step 1: The Plan

Dr Nick takes a digital 3D look at your mouth to map out the safest spot for your new tooth.

  2. Step 02

    Step 2: The Placement

The small anchor and the protective synthetic material are gently placed into the mouth under local numbing.

  3. Step 03

    Step 3: The Healing

We wait a few months to let everything settle and bond completely with your body.

  4. Step 04

    Step 4: The Final Touch

Your precision-crafted, custom tooth is securely attached to the anchor, completing your smile.

Risks & considerations

Implant surgery is generally safe and well-established. Risks include infection, swelling, transient nerve sensitivity, and — rarely — implant failure where the bone does not fuse with the titanium.

All dental procedures carry potential risks and benefits. Individual results vary. A consultation with a registered dental practitioner is required to determine whether a treatment is suitable for you.
